Gardening Club Comes Indoors At White House

Gardening Club at White House Care Home in Letchworth Garden City recently moved indoors, giving residents who are unable to get out into the garden the opportunity to get involved with some seasonal planting.

Residents enjoyed getting their hands into the soil as they helped with smaller pots of flowers and bulbs inside the home. Gardening provides a lovely opportunity to spend time together, enjoy a hands-on activity and make something that can be enjoyed long after the session has finished.

The group also prepared a couple of larger outdoor pots, planting bigger bulbs ready for spring next year. Although the flowers will take some time to appear, residents can look forward to seeing their hard work come to life when the bulbs begin to grow and bloom.

For residents who are unable to access the garden easily, bringing gardening activities indoors means they can still enjoy the experience of planting and caring for flowers. It also gives everyone the chance to take part in preparing the home’s outdoor spaces for the seasons ahead.

There was plenty of conversation and enjoyment as residents worked together, with the promise of some beautiful flowers to look forward to in spring. The activity was a wonderful reminder that gardening can be enjoyed throughout the year, whether indoors or outside.
